“If you love your jazz with a bluesy feel, you will love the new music from the Dan Beck Band. Hailing from California, the band’s latest single “Time and Spacing” gives off a natural smooth flavor that is simple and characteristic. The group’s musical style feels very personal and sincere as the stories are being told in song in a synth-free environment. On their latest CD “All The Fish Are Hoppin”, you can expect to hear more musical stories come alive on everything including topics of relationships, childhood joy and world events.Tune in to #jazzmoodsradio to hear Dan Beck Band plus more.”  -NewMusicMondays

Happy New Year to all our fans!  Thank you all for your support in 2017 – we released our first album, All the Fish are Hoppin’ last year – it was a huge success!  This year we are working on a new album and have more great gigs for everyone to attend.  The first is in Santa Cruz at Lulu Carpenter’s on January 13th – but the one you need to prepare in advance for is in Monterey at the historic Hotel del Monte, on the campus of the Naval Postgraduate School.

The Naval Postgraduate School is continuing their Sunday Brunch on the last Sunday of the month, and we will be there, playing great music to accompany the excellent food and atmosphere!  We had the honor of performing in 2017 and for a special New Year’s Eve 1940s Gala and they have asked us back for 2018!.

Please join us the last Sunday in January and February in the Barbara McNitt Ballroom (or on the balcony – gorgeous view!) for exquisite fare and our signature swinging Blue Jazz music.  Get there early and you can enjoy a Bloody Mary at the cool Trident Room – the basement bar with a nautical theme – that opens at 10am.  Be sure to  leave time for exploring the lobby and the museum room – tons of interesting history there!

You’ll want to stroll the beautiful grounds, with a desert garden, pool, and even a friendly squirrel or two.  Hope to see some of our fans in the audience on the last Sunday of January or February – please make your reservations by 01/12 or 02/09.  Brunch is $30 per person (includes champagne, OJ, coffee/tea and an expansive menu), $15 for kids, under 4yrs free. Reservations must be made 3 Fridays in advance by phone or email.

Check out this cool photo I found of when the Hotel del Monte was in it’s heyday and the beginning (and end!) of the legendary 17 Mile Drive.  Salvador Dali hosted an avant garde party there – look it up, you’ll be amazed.  See you there! You’ll need to provide the following via phone or email: full names, birth dates and DL /ID numbers to 831-656-1049 or fill out THIS FORM and email to: mwrcatering@nps.edu by January 12 and/or February 9, 2018.

We are excited to be part of an awesome event at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey for New Year’s Eve – a 1940s-style Dinner Party at the historic Hotel Del Monte!  The Hotel Del Monte is the original beginning and end of the famous 17-Mile Drive, and has, over the years hosted the most legendary and illustrious people from all over the world, including the artist Salvador Dali.

This event features the Dan Beck Band with awesome original Blue Jazz tunes and 1940s standards, with a five-course gourmet dinner, a 5:30 pm reception in the lobby with local pianist Don Pendergrass, a cash bar and East Coast Toast at 9pm. 1940s attire encouraged!  Please join us for this incredible evening of exceptional live music, gastronomical delights, and tons of fun!  Open to military for $85 pp and civilians for $1oo pp.

One of the most amazing and historic spots in Monterey is the old Hotel del Monte, on the campus of the Naval Postgraduate School, normally only accessible to the military.  And one of the most amazing events is their Sunday Brunch which is open to the public on the last Sunday of the month.  We had the honor of performing on September 24th and will be repeating the gig on October 29th.
